I am a highly motivated educator with a passion for teaching, reading, and writing. I am also a creative, adaptable, and organized leader with four years of experience in all grade levels. I have been recognized for outstanding teamwork, communication skills, and excelling in work in classes.
During my sophomore year at Ashland University, I was placed at Ashland Middle School for my Field Experience. I went to the school twice a week and observed, taught, co-taught, and learned in a 7th-grade classroom. I had to develop lesson plans using the Ashland University Standard Lesson Plan which can be found here.
During my junior year at Ashland University, I was placed at Hillsdale High School where I went to the school three times a week and observed, taught, and learned in 11th and 12th-grade classrooms. I had to develop lesson plans using the Ashland University Standard Lesson Plan.
In both Field Experiences, I was assigned a supervisor and a mentor. My advisors were assigned by the Ashland U Ed Dept. I had two different advisors between my sophomore and junior year. My supervisors would come and observe/grade me whenever I taught one of my lessons to students. Therefore, they were the ones who ultimately decided my grade for the semester, as well as offered their knowledge and advice on teaching. I was also assigned a mentor, the teacher whose classroom I was assigned to, by the head of Field Experiences. The mentors helped me with lesson plans, told me what they would like me to teach their students, and guided me every step of the way so I could have the best learning experience as a future educator. They also ultimately helped me improve and grow more comfortable with my teaching.

During my senior year at Ashland University, I was assigned to Ashland Middle School for my student teaching. I had 8th-grade intervention and English. I took everything I learned during my field experiences and applied it to my student teaching experience. I was assigned yet another supervisor and mentor who helped me learn and grow more independently as an educator. Although it was all cut short due to COVID, I still am able to apply what I learned in my own classroom today.

America Reads

America Reads is a program through Ashland University where students are given the opportunity to tutor kids who attend surrounding elementary and intermediate schools in reading, writing, and comprehension. We read, did worksheets, and played educational games in order to better prepare them for testing.
Mentor Exempted Village Schools

During my time in Mentor, I was a Certified Long-Term ELA Substitute. I covered Honors English 10 at the high school from September 2020-November 2020. Then, I served as a building substitute until I took over for Regular and Honors English 8 at Memorial Middle School from December 2020- March 2021. To finish out the school year, I was a building substitute until June 2021.

During my time at St. Joseph Academy, I was hired as an English tutor through a company by the name of McKeon Education Group. I served as a tutor in English 9 and English 11. I also served as a co-writing instructor in their writing center where I would help students in all grade levels write, edit, and format their essays.
Greenbriar Middle School

During my time at Greenbriar Middle School, I am a Learning Lab teacher. My class is focused on social emotional learning as well as the programs IXL and ALEKS. This is for grades 5-8. Our daily class consists of SEL's where we followed the social emotional learning standards (linked) and cover five topics: Self Awareness, Social Awareness, Self Management, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision-Making Skills. IXL is a computer-based program for students to further practice their skills and testing skills in ELA. ALEKS is an online program for students to further practice their math skills. We also do a lot of mental health activities in order to monitor how each individual student is doing mentally, how they are managing their time, and how they are doing on their school work. Lastly, we talk about the effects of bullying and social media and how it can have an impact on students.
North Olmsted Middle School

I am one of the current middle school volleyball coaches at North Olmsted Middle School. After growing up and playing myself for so many years, it has been a dream of mine to one day become a coach. I have coached both 7th and 8th grade girls. I use my leadership skills to be a leader for my players. I lead drills, work on skills, place players in specific positions, and work very hard to lead us to wins. But most of all, I make it a priority to make it fun for everyone. I have loved coaching just as much as teaching!
