EXTRACURRICULARS

Volleyball
I played volleyball from 4th-9th grade. I really fell in love with the sport as time went on and I eventually became a setter. A setter runs plays and is the leader of the team, so I have superb leadership skills that have adapted/increased because of volleyball. Since I played for six years, I have the athleticism and skills to lead a team. I have always said that my dream job would be to be an English teacher and coach volleyball on the side. I am currently a Middle School Volleyball Coach at North Olmsted Middle School.

Newspaper/
Journalism
As an English teacher, I really enjoy writing. For my senior year at Ashland University, I took a journalism course and loved it. I liked how I didn't have to write in the "Standard English" form. It was fun to branch out and go outside of my comfort zone and try a different writing style. Therefore, being a part of the school newspaper or journalism course would be fun, yet challenging, electives for both myself and the students. Also, a quick fun fact, I had to create this website as part of my journalism class at AU and I'm so glad it was assigned because it has been a great tool for me. With that being said, it could serve as the same for students.

Yearbook
I am a very tech savvy person and am familiar with photoshop. I am also a very creative person. With that being said, although I never took yearbook in high school, I think I would really enjoy it and have fun. It would also allow me to be more creative than I already am, as well as allow the students to be more creative.
